I would say well water is better for everything . I moved from the urban county where we were on county water and they would send out a report every year on what was in the water . It made me not want to drink it . Also my face was breaking out like a teenager at my age . I even went to a dermatologist and that didn’t help . I moved about 17 months ago and now I am on well water . My face cleared up I soon after moving . I had lose stools for a couple weeks , but I am good now . The only thing that I can associate different for my face clearing up is the water . Not a pimple on me since I moved and my bad face complexion went on for years before the move and getting on well water .

Chlorine has been used as a disinfectant in drinking water for many years. The disinfection process does produce byproducts from chlorine combining with organics in the source water. Over the years there have been many regulations and monitoring systems put in place to insure safe drinking water from public systems. How this affects our dogs is another question. I have used Chlorinated water in my kennels for thirty years and of course when dogs are out running they drink whatever water they find and I can't say that I have ever had a health problem in a dog that could be attributed to water.
