I only used them coonhunting in those days.I still have a tracker brand outfit.First one i had was a ATS.The ATS was far better than the tracker.It blew away the alpha 100 in range.Once you got good with the ATS you could be very accurate and the collars were bullet proof..I wasnt very good with the tracker brand and the collars were junk but it was small and didnt have to have the big antenna.Even tho i didnt like the Tracker i still never lost a dog.Funny thing happened one night hunting with a old friend,,I was trying to find our dogs with the tracker and my friend got tired of me and picked up a stick shaped like a devining rod and said "Hell ill find my dog quicker with this than you will with that junk"
Guess you had to be there for that to be funny.ha.Also drinking beer was a big part of coonhunting in those days.

I use to use the tracker classic for coonhunting..it was the cat's meow when it came out...it was way better then hauling around the lunch box and TV antenna...

I bought mine when they first came out.It would only work two collars.Later with new models they did improve.A friend had a maxima i think and it was alot better than mine.But mine still works and it always got me by.I wont use it again unless i have to.But it was run thru the ringer for sure.

I actually still have a tracker classic 2 dog system and a Marshall Field Marshall 5000 with 2 collars, that system was well over $1000 back then. Still like new.
