That is the risk we take every time we feed. I feed grain free, and keep my fingers crossed.
On our Hog farm we got some bad feed from the elevator, at that time we had litters of piglets up to grown sows. We sold finished hogs at 215-225 lbs. every Monday at the Marlette stock yard to buyers from Detroit.
We had over 2200 hogs on the farm, the bad feed killed around 300-500 finished hogs, by the time the feed was tested for the problem.
My dad did get reimbursed for the loss, we had to clean everything out, feeders etc.
That day on we put up a big grain bin, and 2 medium sized bins, we fed straight corn and pellets to the hogs.
Had no problem after that.
