Males ran Saturday...Females ran Sunday.

We took 5 of Satchels (cousins) young derby females to their...... first ever..... Field Trail …. this weekend.

They are Blackcreek\Skullfork derby females out of Mr. H's old momma.....Honey Island Fe-Fe and my old Big Head male.

In my opinion the judges worked hard and did an outstanding job at this trial.

The judges rigorously tested this cast of first time out young derby females for...…. (7)…... non stop hours.

The judges rigorously tested this young cast of derby females for...….. Hunt.......Determination....Proper use of mouth..... Close check work......Line Control....(Gun Shyness)…….Stamina and most of all.....Accountability.

Hats off to the judges for their thoroughness and attention to detail. Great job!!!!!!

We would also like to thank South Louisiana Beagle Club for their line up of outstanding judges, well run trial, manicured grounds full of game..... and …..allowing us to pick all the fresh tree ripe citrus of every kind known to man that we could haul off.

Always a great time when you have good honest judges and don't have to be concerned with buddy judging, favoritism, etc. Well done, how about pics of the placing hounds? Looks like that counseling is paying off for you two, glad to see all your bruises are all healed up from the beatings and things are all better now

These are three of the young derby females I ran at the South Louisiana Christmas Hunt Field Trial yesterday. They are Blood and Kongs littermate sisters. This is the first rabbit these 3 little females ever run down and killed after an hour and 10 minute drive. They are very intense, focused hard hunting, real close in the check with straight forward flow with excellent direction. They own all gears require...…..I Found out yesterday...they love the gun!!!

One of the other young Derby bitches in my cast that I am extremely excited about looks exactly like her littermate brother Able in the photo below. They are clones. Lots of heavy old time FC Gay dogs crossed on the best of the FC Blackcreek\ Skullforks. I have no picture of her yet. She is an beast in the briars and on a rabbit. She is a very aggressive grubbing hunter..... She and her brother Able.. live up under matted briars. Scary, booming mad, screaming chopping mouths. Rule book style but intense. She looks like a strong male dog on steroids. The other derby bitch is out of FC Mac's Choppin BO and a good granddaughter out of my old FC Speck II bitch. This cast of young derby bitches are sure enough Rabbit Dogs already. They were born that way.

Do you notice all the solid black with dot eyes on these Blackcreek\Skullfork rabbit dogs?.....No you do not!

The real old time black creeks didn't look like that either. They were very tri-colored hounds. These dogs are built to run not hang up and wobble

They make it look so easy.

That is Honey Island Swamp Run Able. The best hound in Mr. H's litter is a very Tri-colored female with a huge jug head built just like Able. She is sitting on pups for Able right now that are 2 days old. That bitch can run and gun a rabbit. Her name is Kate.....She looks like the Old Decker dogs.
