My son shot this deer Monday night, unfortunately and completely unlike him, he made a bad shot and wounded the deer. We found it this morning.
We feel bad it suffered, and we have Never had to track a deer. They usually fall quick. Not sure what happened.
Not a trophy for our area, but a older cull buck.

That’s a good deer in anybodies book. There’s things that can’t be helped. Could’ve moved about the time he squeezed off the shot. I’ve had it happen. Shot one about 5 years ago that turned just as I shot and punctured 1 lung and came out it’s flank. I looked for 2 days for it. A young girl shot it 3 weeks later. It was 2 farms up from the house following a doe. It had infection set up so bad all they got was the head. But it was the biggest she d ever killed. I went and helped track it that night after she shot it and was tickled to death cause she killed it
