I got the opportunity to go out and run a few coyotes today with a friend of mine and his dogs I shot this big coyote with my .270 it looks like he hasn't been missing many meals.. it was a pretty nice shot if I do say so myself

That is a big one and a nice shot . I have a experienced predator hunter coming by my place tomorrow to look the land over before he hunts it .

Nice job getting that coyote, nice looking coyote hounds. There is a guy from Marysville who have the lurcher type dogs. He goes over the Blue water bridge in Port Huron to Sarnia, then goes somewhere into Ontario to run and catch Coyotes. I spoke with his wife and have not talked to him yet as this Covid situation goes. I want and would like to go watch his dogs run and catch coyotes.

I love watching and listening to beagles run , but to me there is nothing like the sound of a big hound . They are usually just gone to quick .

Hunting coyotes is enjoyable ,for me I like my little hounds and the price of gas when I hunt them its a tank of gas a day to go hunt coyotes . People around here have far more coyote hounds than people have beagles which is a win win for me !

I've mentioned before that both of my grandfathers homesteaded in Saskatchewan more than a century agne of my dad's uncles hunted coyotes with lurchers and a model T Ford with dog boxes on the back.Dad told me the stories and I have a few pictures of the dogs.By the way,Mark Twain wrote a hilarious piece about catching coyotes with such hounds but I can't remember where to find that work.
