Have a female that’s salivary gland swelled up about a month ago. Taken to the vet and was given a shot of Excede and swelling went away for 2 weeks but now it’s back, is there any treatment that can be done at home for this, she is pregnant and they mentioned surgery after she had the pups.

Take her back to the Vet to get medication, you need her to raise the pups, and yes, when weaned look into surgery. JMHO

im within a handful of days of her dropping the pups, the swollen spot ended up weeping from two punctures that ended up looking more like a snake bite. so im not sure what to make of that unless she got bit in the back yard she mainly stays inside with us, the swelling has gone down and she will be going to the vet after she has the pups to ensure that issue is resolved ive spoken with the vet over the phone and was told to keep any eye on it.

She had an abscess, from a bite or got punctured. The good thing is it broke and drained out. If you can put some peroxide in the opening to clean it and get her some antibiotics.JMHO
