A friend of mine was selling his dog box and called me asking if I was interested in it . He only had it for a few months and wanted $350 for it . It is a Heritage box . I know not the best , but I thought it was a good deal for $350 dollars and he needed the money , so I bought it . View attachment 53093

I have noticed that most of the members on this site have dog boxes in the truck bed. My dog box is also in the truck bed, but what I did was frame it in with 2x4's so it will not slide around. I can take the box out and then take the framing out, if I have to haul things. The box is secured, doesn't slide around or move at all. JMO

I forgot , I did give him a Blackcreek female puppy last year . She was the only female and one of the prettiest puppies that I have seen . He bought the box for her and she only road in it one time . His grown boy freaked out when he put her in it . They made her a house pet . I keep trying to get him to run her with her brother that I kept , just to run and not shoot , but he wont have any part of that . He said the only thing that she is going to run , is to her food bowl . He said that she is the best dog that he has ever had . At least I know she went to a good home , but I would of liked to see her run one time .

I am going to hook a strap to the carry handles and strap it to the bed of my truck . My nephew drilled 2 holes in his and bolted a eye hook to the near bottom of it and then got a couple of adjustable like clothes line tensioner hook bolts and bolted his down in the truck . It works good at holding his from moving , but his is wider than mine 48 x 48 inches . Mine is 38 inches wide and 44 inches deep . I was going to trade boxes with him if he wanted to . He likes the top storage on mine and mine is a winter / summer box . His doesn’t have side panels . He cut some himself and made a channel for them to side in for the winter and his doesn’t have a floor , making it much lighter than mine . His I could take in and out of my truck by myself . I use the bed of my truck a lot for work , he doesn’t . He didn’t want to trade because mine is about a 1 1/2” taller than his .

There is a wielder that lives near me that works at the shipyard that builds custom dog boxes . I talked to him before the season about one , but when he told me the price , I started looking for a used one . Then when I couldn’t find a used one , I was going to get a easy loader box until this box popped up for sale . I had just started looking at them . I still might get a easy loader box and sell this one later if it’s to much trouble taking in and out of my truck .
