He is just a pet and protector so he won't be ruining nothing. I have never even thought to look at the breed standard when buying a house dog. I have never cared cause they were just a family pet and weren't going to be used for breeding. I probably should have. I agree that breeders should stick to the breed standard now that I have thought about it. People do ruin everything. Lol

My bad wasn’t talking bout yours specifically

Just a lot of the breeders I’ve seen advertise 100+ shepherds

Sounds appealing but they weren’t meant for that size lol

Now some are just odd balls and get big without the breeder trying to have oversized dogs.

But humans do ruin everything we get our hands on man lol.

You know how many great breeds of dogs aren’t nearly as good nowadays.

Poodles for one lol

I didnt take offense to your post. It made me realize that I spend alot of time thinking about beagles but never put any thought into the house dogs. Lol. He was a gift to my dad from my wife and I. He had one that he loved in his younger days and never prioritized it high enough to spend the money on a full blooded one since. He is my dads best buddy and would undoubtedly die for him which was exactly what we were hoping for.

Man if I send you the pics and videos of how naturally attached my shepherd took to my daughter and how protective its mind blowing lol.

Man another breed is Pit Bulls....

People ruined em.

I expect 1000% for pit bulls to try to attack and fight other dogs....never really should bite humans...

Their history and what they were bred for say that...

Humans get in the mix and ruin it

Thats awesome. I always felt better knowing the dog would protect the kids at all cost. I worked nightshift for 15 years or better and it eased my mind having a big dog in the house to protect the wife and kids. When I was a kid we had a collie that went everywhere with us. Protected us from anybody and everything. He was a great dog.

Irish Setters bred for show. had one for pheasant hunting some one stole it, my dad was pi&&&&. She was a good pheasant dog, big runner, excellent point, and retrieve, tough to get burrs out of her.
