Fellows please allow me. I respect you all so don’t think I’m faulting you all. I’m just at a loss.
From my understanding seems most forums mods delete threads or move them. We have a 25 post classified policy. We’ve had 2 already skirt this by using an inappropriate place. On most forums the mods move items where they belong. Here that’s out. Perhaps here you all don’t do that? If so I apologize, could you inform us how we should handle? Its for the safety of the new folks and do we don’t get all the crazy junk we were getting. If someone can simply post the same exact thing elsewhere it’s pointless. If you would, advise please guys

When did the 25 post rule come into effect?
I think in a way it would be a good thing but what if someone had been following the forum for a while but hadn't signed up but decided to so he could sell a dog. After selling someone has a question about a certain bloodline, handling a dog, or any number of things... Well since I've already signed up I will give my advice, if not I may not take the time to fool with it... See where I'm coming from on this?

We're all adults right... Do we need "protected?" Go watch the dog run or be prepared to get on here and gripe about how you got burnt. Simple as that IMO.

There was a thread all bout it and the classifieds have a 25 post rule now. It’s a good thing. May not protect you or I but someone new it may plus it stops all the junk sales. I’m actually surprised you hadn’t seen it. Check forum software. It was started there but was visible on new items

I’m fairly new and was not aware of the rule. And my opinion don’t carry much weight. My problem is that these kind of rules is the problem with our younger generation it’s right up there with participation trophies. Getting burnt is part of life on a dog just like a car or anything else in this life. It’s gonna happen and you learn from it. I won’t sell a dog with telling the person it’s faults first and then letting him watch it as long as he wants within a reasonable amount of time. And I understand all people aren’t that way. Point being let people figure some things like all people are not good honest people on their own and learn from it. If I buy a dog on here and get burnt then that’s on me and the person that sold me the dog. JMO

I Love this forum and hope to be on it many years to come.

Oh I had give up on the post too soon I guess, I would have stuck with it if I'd have known executive decisions were being made.

Hey Cricket, care to fill us in a little before we start changing the rules next time? Maybe make a new post explaining the reason behind these decisions so we all know what's up? Maybe run it past us before we let one person dictate what we do on here?

Just a suggestion...

Thank you!

First of all your opinion certainly counts. I’m all for being a man but at the same time I don’t feel someone should prey on anyone around me. If I can offer a heads up I’m gonna

Guys I agree with majority here.1st of all Moderators can’t monitor everything. It is a constant battle to keep spam alone off this site and try to keep peace among the tribes over the last few months. Apparently the 25 post rule was in affect prior to change of format. I didn’t know that either. However if you want to make changes to format post to Admin in forum at top of Tailgate. Lots of suggestions are out there as several have contacted me. I have ask Admin to add a suggestion corner. I also agree that Admin should poll members before making changes.

well IT was a great idea and it was mentioned in a thread and discussed some liked it so cricket checked into it and made this decision. Wake up boys there is shady stuff going down all the time ,some intentionally and some not. New members and good old boys don't know .As members it is our duty to protect them unless you don't care and then I could understand you not liking this rule

Mr. LtELmer I want to first say thank you for you helping me in trying to find a dog here in Indiana. Tenure members like yourself are the key to helping others to buy a dog the right way. I understand your stance and my post was not necessarily an attack on the rule itself as much as it was my belief in people learning by making mistakes. I just feel that the society we breed today is very poor to making their own choices and learning from them. Making responsible and logical choices just seams to be a lost art these days. I want my 4 and 8 year old boys to learn that this world ain’t all peaches and cream and everything you want out there isn’t just handed to you on a silver platter. Have to fail in life to learn. Again this site is great and am looking forward to all the great friends I will make on here.

So...I talked to a guy on here a couple years ago that said he had a nice Oakhill dog. Said he was a rabbit running machine. Since he was a well-known member I took him for his word and asked if he knew a dog hauler, which he said he did. After seeing a pic of the dog I started having second thoughts but he assured me this dog was PURE RABBIT DOG! I asked for a video but he said he didn't know how to post videos. When ask about his pedigree he had lost the original but could hand write a new one. (Should have been a sign)
Well after spending thousands of hours and a ton of money on having him shipped all the way from North Carolina the dog never showed the slightest indication of being a rabbit dog. Needless to say I am the laughing stock of all my beagling buddies. I feel like a complete fool. My wife even told me it was gonna be her or that stupid dog.

I said all this to warn you if this man ever tries to sell you a dog do not, I repeat, DO NOT BUY A DOG FROM THIS MAN!!!

I realize the thing that brings people to this site may be to buy or sell a dog or pup. They often stay and make great members. I understand making a rule that you must be a member and post so many times before making a classified post, but 25 or 2500 posts will not make that person any less of a liar/crook. There are just some people I would not believe no matter how many quality posts. I sit here many nights on this site just to read the bull some of you pass out. There have been several beagle sites the same guys have posted on and I would never buy a dog from them even if they were the greatest dogs in the world. Yes, there are FEW on here I would buy a dog sight unseen from you, but no offense guys some I would not touch with a 10 foot pole unless I saw and ran said dog. Doesn't mean I don't like you just means I have serious concerns as to why you would get rid of your best dog ever. .LOL Just wanted to post something, OH! Out of being curious I went back and looked and there were several that had not made 25 posts before placing a classified. It takes a long time and I will not do that again, because you have to go through all the dates as well.

Well it looks like we got this one solved!! The scammers will find a way to get around the rule. Good intention people will be discouraged. In some ways its is comparable to your telephone scam people. I delete and try to block unknown numbers. Two minutes later I get another one. My prefix is 390 so I get calls from phones with that prefix all of the time. Again, I know this not about phones but don't you think these people will figure another way. They are sitting at home figuring it out while you are on the job working. Back to the phone, my daughter actually received a call from he exact phone number, area code, prefix and number. Since I am not the brightest star in the planet I just put up with it. I would hate to see us loose a potential members as a result of this rule. I don't get on the ESPO board any more because they have changed so many things over the years. I am told that the old members do their communicating on face book, etc. JMO.

SMH ~~it is NOT your duty to protect good ol'boys--new members ect----IT IS YOUR DUTY to enjoy the board----STOP being a pot stirrer and slyly slinging insults and cheerleading anytime there is a complaint
The post rule is to curb the advertisment rape of our forum advertising all sorts of things---on every thread. it keeps moderators busy cleaning up ~ NOW YOU KNOW

we are working diligently on a way to eliminate **** stirrers and rite now we are debating on them having to lick the spoon.........
