What's a good over the counter General antibiotic for a beagle?

Doxycycline is good but that is Rx. Amoxicillin is what I think @will messer is talking about and that works good too for most bacterial infections. I give one a day to mine if and when I have to dock one of their tails to keep it from getting infected when its in the process of falling off. 250mg of Amoxicillin

I think that's what a buddy of mine uses,he says it helps to keep dog from getting lyme disease is bit by tick.

If Lymes is caught early yes amoxicillin is a good antibiotic to use to combat it for about 3 - 4 weeks. Doxy also works good for that.
