I have been running a trial for a couple years. Seems like it will work so I will pass it along in case someone else needs it. I bought these collars second hand 8 or 9 years ago so not sure how long they have been in use. The rubber antenna holder and rubber holding GPS antenna had started to deteriorate some were almost completely gone. I put a little black tape on them to hold in place and bought some 1.25 inch chain and rope protection wrap and put over it. Added a little tape on end. These in picture have been used 2 years with no problem and they have been in briars. Would protect it if added when new.

The rubber on all my minis rotted away exposing the wire from the gps antenna.Theyre about 6yr old.I wonder if using armor all or a rubber conditioner on them would help before its too late?I used Gorilla tape and it works pretty good.When the gorilla tape wares out on em now(its pretty tuff tape) ill tape em up again with gorilla tape and use your idea .I need to go to a hardware store and and ask for chain and rope protector wrap? Thanks.

I use the heat shrink for electric wire and it is holding up good for the antenna .I but 2 or 3 layers on
