I wanted to video a hunt start to first harvest. But it did not work out. Here is a long boring video of our private land, and this mornings hunt. If you can't get out, maybe you will enjoy it.
I shot the rabbit 5 minutes after I turned off the camera. Ended up with 5 today.
dogs were less than spectacular.
This is the afternoon hunt, battery died, but you can see a different part of our grounds. Not much excitement after the first couple minutes.

Spini Boys- Wind was nasty could hear it a lot on the video. So if your dogs put up a pheasant do you shoot it or let it go?
Just wondering. It looked like a good pheasant area as well as rabbits. Must of been a tough day. JMO
No pheasant in our area, we have quail but usually if they flush a covey we are no where close enough to shoot. We are also never really ready for that. I have my gun slung on my shoulder, my buds with double barrels have it open over their shoulder. Only time we chamber a round and get ready is when the hounds are coming at us.

Is there a lot of the junk busch muti-flora rose, it is growing like hot cakes here in Michigan. I hate getting caught by it and tearing into my face and ripping my hat off. JMO
YES, the first video where they are running in it, there is about 60 acres of it right there. It has some paths through it, but this summer we are going to try and clear a bunch of it. That use to be a cattle feed lot years ago. When the cattle left all that came in. Its full of rabbits and deer. Problem is, it rips the hounds up bad and its hard to shoot anything.

Nice Spini! I tried videoing today and didn’t have much luck. Had great races, jumped 12 swampers put 8 in tree, killed 2 lost 2 in water. Put a little over 12 mi on dogs
Thats great! I am going to get a good video of start to first harvest this season if it kills me.

We turned out at 8:00 this morning in water about ankle deep. We ran 4 swampers and killed 2. Then went and got feed unloaded dogs feed them then horses, put out hay changed cloths and went to the lease deer hunting. Bloodied up a goodun. I bumped it looking for blood. Backed out and called Sam and Jesse. We tracked it to where it laid down again then lost blood. Guess we ll find it rabbit hunting. It’s been a busy day I’m give out must be getting old. Them old strip pits at the lease are rough

Does any one have a deer tracking dog near you? It’s used a lot here!
Not that I know of. I know during deer season folks are always asking, needing to find a wounded deer.
We can't hunt deer over hounds here, it's illegal. So any deer chasers have to be fixed or sent down the road.

The dog is on a leash monitored by the owner, they have used Jack Russells, German Shepard’s, GSP as examples. The dogs just follow the blood trail, if the blood trail is weak they work it till they find the deer. JMO

Yeah, I have heard of them. I was on a KS Hunting page during the rut and was thinking a guy could make some cash right now if he had one of them dogs. There were lots of folks looking for someone with one.
