I watched Platoon and Hacksaw Ridge both the other night. They are hard to watch. While in Vietnam in 1965 and 1966 I never saw anything that bad. The later years before our then President pulled us out of Nam, it was bad. It is very emotional to watch but I am guessing that to some degree, it is accurate. It is sad but also encouraging to see our young men, and now women, who are still willing to put their lives on the line for the sake of freedom. We owe them every inch of gratitude we can give. I usually wear my Vietnam Vet cap when out shopping. It is so uplifting to have a young man or women come up to you and thank you for your service.
