Too often of times do so many fail to do TWO of the most valuable things a youngster could have us as the owners of all that sparking potential implement: SOCIALIZATION & HANDLING. Today I’d like to engage on the HANDLING aspect of the working Beagle. Below I’ve pasted a link of those of our own young dogs being worked off-lead in the field, in the WILD.. no pens (though I don’t recommend whomever try “exactly” what I did here).

Nice video, they need to know their names, come when called, and the other tactics you shown. I like to teach my pups and even grown dogs MANNERS, i.e.., in the kennel, dog box, out in the field. The pups I take out to get use to the woods, swamps, fields, I want them to go off and then check back to me. Some times they go off, I will hide and wait for the pups to find me. I want them to check in that's why I hide and they wonder where I went.
Another thing is I like to name dogs with one syllable so I don't have to put a lot of stress calling if I have to. Example are, Stub, Bell, Sam, etc. I have had numerous individuals tell me that they can not believe how well my dogs handle. Its the work and time that is put in will bring rewards.

I have said this and am a FIRM believer --they need to know their names and what U expect from them---I have them in the house until they are started on Rabbits then they move to the kennel--I NEVER need to lease my dogs and when the hunt is over they follow me to the truck
This way if they don't make it as Rabbit Dawgs they can be house dogs for someone
