Ol' Brutus struck again. Our neighborhood protector (Big Black Lab) came running out of the bushes with two baby rabbits in his mouth. He brought them to me when i called him. Guess im gonna see if they make it and possibly use them to train pups a little.
They are babies of the wild. I've raised them, but they are never comfortable and grow wilder as they age. They suffer being in open view, chicken fence around the bottom of a yard barn and turn them loose. Some greens and dry alpha hay, they get moisture from the greens. Turn them loose in June and they will know what to do, natural instinct is an amazing thing to watch in babs of the wild.
This is the one I got and has done well
About 8 mo old
Keeped her in side in dark and hand feed her She took to bottle well then water not long after she is good
But will not let you get close to her
Only reason I keep her is because she would have not made it
I decided to let them go today because they would not eat or drink anything. Only one was able to run off. The other one had a messed up leg, so picked him back up and brought him back in.
