I asked for some advice on here a few weeks ago. I didn’t like some of the replies but I am man enough to listen to solicited advice. I may not have used all the advice but I listened. I had an issue with my pack, after getting rid of one, he is now a pet in the city, having to put one down for broken back and working with the others, I actually enjoyed the hunts.
I took them to a local WMA, it is very very thick with briars. They had a couple real good chases and they really worked well. I never could get a shot because of how thick but that’s ok.
They came out of the briars with red flag tails and cut ears. They worked hard for the chases.
Deer hunting went very well for me and I plan on having an even better rabbit hunting season.
I called one my Red White and Blue Tick.

Glad we didn’t run you off . One thing about a Internet forum , you are going to get some advice and comments that you might not like . If you get to many from the same person the ignore feature works wonders . It sounds like your dogs are working together better now . Congratulations on your hunt , it looks like the dogs were working hard and you had a good time . For me that is what it is all about , if I am having fun . Once it is not fun anymore , I will do something else .

The common thread here is hounds and fellowship, but we all have different likes and expectations of our dogs. What works for some may not work for other’s, my grandpa always said about the only thing in life that’s free is advice and opinions from others. Alway’s listen and take note of what they have to say cause you might learn a thing or two but in the end you get to decide whether any of it holds water to your situation. I’m glad you had a great hunt and your dog’s are working out better for you now, anytime the running improves it makes it all worth it.

Sounds like you had a great time, figured out your pack and threw some advice out the window and used some of it. Thats why we have opinions and different forums. Welcome to Rabbitdogs again. I have to agree with the statement of when it’s Not Fun it’s time to do something else. I guess it’s been fun for me for 56 years now since I started owning beagles and rabbit hunting at 8. I’m still like an 8 year old when them dogs start squalling and chopping!! Love it

8 years in the Marine Corps I built up some thick skin. I don’t run off easy, I am good at filtering. I believe that most want to help and share their experience but sometimes just come across wrong and some are easy to offend. It takes all types to make the world go around. I stay away from religion and politics. I am here to read and learn about beagles and handling them. I like pictures, especially of hunts. I may be a little naive, usually by choice.
I really like this forum. I am a serious lurker. I read just about everything. I am going to to be a little more active.
