If you are asking these types of honest questions you probably don't know about the different types of beagles breeding’s and bloodlines and the work they were bred to do where they are used to do that work.

No if you just want to get a few dogs to run to hang with your friends just get some like they got. I would say go get some of what they have from them or where they get theirs and you will fit right in and it will all be good.

But if you are trying to learn and decide for yourself what you like and want in a hound then I would consider the following.

I have learned from experience that nothing beats going watch dogs run, perform and do their work in real time conditions and situations. This helps me to get a more well-rounded feel for the dogs I am considering as there are many other things besides the speed of the dog that are also of very high importance to me. Many of which are deal breakers if the dogs I am looking at do not display them and in proper amount no matter their speed.

Going and watching as many of the dogs I am considering close up in the dogs pedigree run especially both parents and the dogs close up behind them is your best option. I would even steer away from hounds where going see is not a possibility.

Most people don't want to spend the time and money to do that. Most people today want what they want and they want it now and they are willing to embrace and take any short cut they can get or is offered to them to get what they want now. Many times these people do not get what they are looking for in a hound overall and they are quick to blame everyone else but themselves for (their) shortcomings. Do not be one of these people.

Do the work...spend the time, spend the money, take the classes if you’re really serious about anything in life. Most people don't do this with dogs and because of this most people don't really have good well balanced dogs they have average well brde dogs with beautiful pedigrees that lack essential quality’s a good hound must own. Many of the these people learn to accept the dogs flaws, faults and weaknesses. They end up buying in to the common arguments and defense used by others that have these one sided dogs. They end up in clicks of people just like them defending and promoting there lacking hounds they all have rather than working to make the necessary changes to better the hounds making them more well-rounded, improved more solid (whole).

If you count the costs and spend the time and do the work in the long run you will be very glad you did!.....Study to show your self-approved is a good rule of thumb. You can learn a lot from hands on, witnessing, seeing and knowing rather than pretty pedigrees, second, third and 50th hand stories, hearsay, short cuts, sales pitches, beagle books, old wives tales or third hand information.

How things look to someone else may look entirely different to you.......even if you see what they saw.
