Good morning all. My father in law was an avid rabbit beagler his whole life and my wife and I took everything over including his pack of dogs after he passed. Going through a box last week I found an old Dog Radartron shock collar. From an internet search looks like DT Systems made them. Do any of you have any history/experience on them- when they were made, how good they were, when they became obsolete? Just curious here. I love digging into stuff like this. My guess is it was the collar system before TriTronics became the rage. He left behind two Tritronics sets, which are tanks and still work to this day even though we just upgraded to Dogtra Pathfinders, which I'm loving so far.

That collar looks to be the dummy collar that came with the setup.I remember them having fake contact points. They dont give dummy collars anymore i guess because they dont work on most dogs. The holes you see were for plugs you inserted to change the shock intensity. And im thinking you turned the collar on and off with a plug also. That was a long time ago.ha.Shock colars have come a long way.lol.One of the greatest inventions for a bird hunter in the old days were beeper collars put out by tritronics.I got alot more shots at birds after i got these. One still works.I hunted hard hunting english setters.Theyed find birds Before the GSP's and Brittanys could get out of the dog box.lol.But sometimes you couldnt find them on point. But after i got these i could.I think now how wonderful a Alpha 100 would have been bird hunting.Sadly the quail are gone in Tn. The world is really screwed up now.

The single collar does look like a dummy system, yet it has the holes that the shock level pins would go into. I had one in the 80’s. I always put tape around the plug in as they would at times fall out of the unit. I think there was a plug in to activate and another was the tension level pin. Worked Ok, went through a lot of telescoping antennas during the time I had it. Traded it in and got the tri tronic system.
