I have always wondered about this and haven’t heard much about it in the fake news , but I saw something today that said your pets can get the Covid from people . That makes me wonder how I would take care of my dogs if I , or someone in my house had it , even if I felt good enough to feed them .

Well I have had it and fed my dogs every day and did not change the feed routine. Also did not change my home life style either and the Wife did not or has not gotten it yet but she has O negative blood type and I am a firm believer in that theory as my daughter and son have O blood type and they have not gotten it either. . So I done know much about Covid other than it really ain’t good but Im pretty sure that the hounds can handle it much better than a human if it possible they can contract the virus.

Corona virus in dogs has been around a long time. They've had a vaccine for it forever. It's probably a bit different than the current one though.

I had 4 friends that got it a little over 2 weeks ago . One house 3 of them had it at the same time and I know that they have at least 2 inside dogs , one is a sister to one of my beagles and come to think ok it , their dogs didn’t get it .

The other person that I know that got it , his wife never got it and she went to get tested just to be sure and it’s been 16 days now . His father , who had a heart and breathing condition got it and he had to be admitted to the hospital last week and it wasn’t looking good . He came home yesterday with oxygen .

I also heard that people with type A blood get it the worst and if your vitamin D level is low you have a worst time with it . I have type A blood , but I have been taking a vitamin D pill for months now , along with zinc .

Glad all of y’all got over it and I am still praying for Wade .

COVID 19 has been detected in very few dogs (by testing) and none were sick. It is not considered to be a problem in dogs. It is not something you need to be concerned about. It has been detected in large numbers of mink and it originally came from bats.

Vaccines: There are many animal vaccines which are formulated to protect against various coronaviruses (not COVID 19). There are many coronaviruses of animal but they are different from COVID 19 and there is not cross protection between these other coronaviruses.

Marshall- there is a vaccine for Corona Virus to give to dogs. Its in some 5-7 way vaccines for puppies, and in boosters as they age.

See above comment. The canine corona virus is a different virus than COVID19. It is not a core vaccine and usually is administered separately from canine distemper virus and canine parvovirus which are core vaccines. There are many animal vaccines which are formulated to protect against various coronaviruses (not COVID 19). There are many coronaviruses of animals but they are different from COVID 19 and there is not cross protection between these other coronaviruses.
