If you asked beaglers from 1920, this would be the hound the vast majority would pick as the most beautiful, well constructed beagle ever bred. This is CH. Windholme's Bangle as she looked about 1905. Her pedigree was mostly English hunting pack breeding. She was said to be almost impossible to beat in the shows.

I have never learned what her size was, and know nothing about her field work. I read she left very few puppies. Occasionally I find lines from today that trace back to the Windholme kennel, but not many. They apparently did not stay in beagling very many years.
