I have a 6 year old female that I just got. I am not breeding her to make money off the pups. She is a great jump dog and has a lot of good traits. I would like to breed her. The question is 6 years old to old to breed? The guy I got her from bred her a year ago and she raised all 6 fine. Tell me what you guys thank.

    6 is still a good age to breed a gyp.I wouldn't past 8 though.

If she is in good health then she should be fine to breed.

  6. She will be perfectly fine to breed on her next heat cycle.

I don't think there is a magic age. I always look at the physical condition of the female. I have a 10 year old that is in great shape and can still hunt all day. She had a litter last summer but I don't want any pups this Spring. If she looks as good next year as she does now, I'll breed her at age 11. Again it depends on the bitch.
