Blood in urine

I went to sprayout the kennel today, and noticed that there was blood in urine on the ground. I have 3 females in the same kennel on concrete. How in the world would I figure out which dog it is, and how concerned should I be? If they weren’t on concrete I would have never known. All dogs seem healthy and they always have clean water. I guess if they were on dirt in a fenced area one would never know if that ever happened.

Have you hunted them lately? If the answer is yes. That may be it. I have noticed in males and females after a hard day hunting. Going through woven wire fences ect. Blood in their urine. I can truthfully say after a football game in 1979 with Penn State. I peed blood for three days. Doctor said I had a bruised Sternum that bled.

If it was me I’d crate em a few hours. Let em out on a lead. Once they pee if there’s blood you’ll see it especially at end, it’s most commonly a uti and you’ll know which one it is. If there’s something you need to treat why wait? If it’s a bitch in heat that’s easy to see Right now but it’s normally drips not puddles in urine , take a white napkin to backsides. It’ll show. If it becomes puss or mucousy it could be pyometria. They need immediate treatment at that point. I’ve never heard of a beagle w it though.
To clarify walk em each one at time and watch them urinate

Arky73- You do not use Ivermectin for Heart Worm preventative? Heck of a lot cheaper then the Vet. also you can give your annual vaccinations yourself, the Vet has to give Rabies shots. JMO

No, I have never done it with any dogs and don’t really want to try and figure it all out and mess with it. I don’t want to have to think about it and measure stuff out. I’ll take em once a year for their shots, and give em a heart worm pill on the first of every month. I guess I like easy more than I like saving money. Lol.

I don’t think there’s much to figure out. Shots are brainless. Ivomec has to be measured but so does milk for pancakes. Just a thought and for easy it’d be easier at home. You’re not driving to vet, waiting on line, etc

Well, I thought about the logistics. I have to take them once a year for rabies shot anyway, right? My vet is about 8 minutes from my house. The total trip there and back with 3 dogs was around 45 minutes. I don’t have to order syringes, or go to the farm store and buy the supplies. The total vet bill for all 3 dogs was about the same cost as one month of my electric bill. Now, I am open minded, and not against what y’all are suggesting, I am just trying to understand how it’s easier. To me, one trip a year, and I give them one pill a month while feeding seems easier and less time consuming to me. If I have to take them for rabies yearly anyway,
So, if you do it yourself, what would be the average yearly cost for buying the supplies, yearly vaccines, and Ivomec for one dog?

Well if you’re vet is making you go once a year for rabies it’s actually a 3 year shot. You don’t need to order syringes. 3 dogs just buy the bag w needle included. I’m sure you hit the farm store or pass it sometime. Don’t go out of your way. It’ll still take less time and be much cheaper too. Most places around here anyhow offer free rabies shots in town. Don’t need a vet for that either. Why does he say every year for rabies??
