Last year around this time I was trying to get my 2 young pups started. I took them down to a creek bottom with a lot of briars and honeysuckle. All of a sudden my little gyp started up and took off down the creek with a chop mouth. I went up on the hill to watch her and my male came with me, the rabbit started making its way up the hill from the other side and you could hear dog and bunny both coming through the honeysuckle. The rabbit busts out of the brush and this thing had to be 10 pounds! My male was a runt and young at that so he hardly went 10 pounds himself. It ran right over the nose of him and shot into the briars on the other side. Dog looked at the rabbit and then looked at me with his eyes big as saucers. I said “get him duke!” He took off after the rabbit but never did tongue on the track that day. It turned out the guy that lived around there had tame rabbits that he fed marshmallows so that was the origin of the behemoth bunny
