thats what i've always benn told!!!I sort of have.
Something about if you see smoke from a chimney going straight up scenting will be tough but if its rising a little bit then spreading out itll be a good day.
I like what Mark said "The barometer is always right for hunting" we just have to go when we can. Some days will be better than others, thats just the nature of things. I try to even enjoy those bad scenting days, sometime you have to look pretty hard to find somethoing good, but consider these things; You have the health to be out there enjoying Gods nature, you may be getting to enjoy the fellowship of good friends (most of the time I run with my dad), your dogs are geting some good practice to make them better hounds. You guys think of some more reasons to enjoy those bad scenting days and post themThe barometer is always right for hunting! Working men have to go when they can, however, knowing what barometric pressure is and how it affects scent conditions helps us understand when some day the dogs can't loose one and other days they have trouble keeping one going. Usually high pressue means tougher scenting.
