Took the pack out yesterday, we ran 7 and killed one. We had some short and some long chases either way the hounds did well and worked hard.
I like the 28ga, no BB’s in the meat.
Found an old hand dug well that needs covered.

Careful around those old wells I’ve found 3 in the past and went back to each of them later and marked them with fence post’s painted orange and hung an orange 5 gallon bucket on each post just trying to clearly mark them for others

I marked the spot on my gps.
My plan is to go back with wire cutters and survey tape. My idea is to make a fence around it and mark with tape.
The well is close 1 1/2 miles from the nearest access point.

One of the ones I found was on core of engineer ground that is around a lake I notified them and even met one of their workers to show them exactly where it was in hopes that they’d fill it in. That was 3 years ago and it’s still open, it’s a ways back into it and that’s the first thing their worker said to me “ where it’s at he doubted that many people ever got back in there that far” not sure if that’s why it’s still open

DugK- On your local news do they have an investigative news person who would talk to you and they would follow up so these sites can be filled. If you are not named or on TV no one will know who you are. Hopefully the news media can and will do something about it, safety hazard for kids and others. JMO

I may have to look into that. I am going to see the property owner over the weekend and ask about it.
I plan on offering to help out. We shall see.
I would hate to hear of a catastrophe and I did nothing to help/try prevent it.
