Default Best treatment for ear mites

What do you guys use to treat ear mites. I've got a couple of young dogs shaking their heads a lot I think they have them I got some stuff once from the vet but it was high and there wasn't much of it I think if your gonna treat one you need to go ahead and treat them all.

Call Timber Creek Dog Supply in Oxford MS you will have to google the number. He is my neihbor and has a hunting dog store. He has a product that some old man has been making forever called Swamp Ear and it works!!!! Not only for ear mites but hot spots and all skin irritations its like a miracle liquid for dogs. Not very expensive either, its like 15 bucks for a 8 or 10 oz bottle.

Ivomec is probably the cheapest and easiest ear mite treatment. You should only have to treat each dog once or twice, just don't put too much in their ears.

1/10th to 2/10ths of a cc in each ear should be plenty, repeat it in a week or two.

Ear Mite Killer with Aloe. About $7 a bottle at most feed stores.

Buy some Adams ear mite medicine from the feed store. You have to treat more than once to get them all. It was like a couple week process to completely rid them from the mites. Keep in mind Ivomec is a neurologic and too much will do harm, but it also works well.

Default Ear Mites

Get a small bottle of ear mite protection and inject a small amount of flea and tick pour on in the ear mite medicine.

We clean the ear with peroxide and then put a couple 1/10th cc ivomec in each ear along with a little mineral oil to lube the ear.
The dark wax is a combination of blood in the earwax from the mites feeding on the inner ear.
An early indication is a hound headshaking while eating his dry kibble. The pressure exerted while chewing seems to make the ear itch. They love when you rub the ear next to their head, it's like getting to an itch that they can't reach...

Do you all just flush the ear out or use Q-tips or what? Thanks

The peroxide will boil out the wax and we just wipe it clean with a rag. We don't use q-tips deriving from my grandmother saying, "stick nothing down your ear smaller than your elbow". Most time you just push the gunk in deeper.
Once you've got a clean ear, drop in the ivomec and rub it in, then, the dab of mineral oil to lube the ear canal again.

I have a yard dog that gets ear mites about every 3 months. I put a cap full of Peroxide in her ear while i scratch her head and around her ear to keep her lying down. Once the peroxide has boiled till it pretty much stops then i let her up and she takes care of the clean up. Better run when you let them up cause they are gonna shake like crazy for a minute. One application does the trick for a few months. She is part Shar-Pe and has tiny, thick ears and I think this is why she has this re-occurring problem.
My beagles haven't had any problems with ear mites so far, going on about 5 years now.

This is what I do also, except I add teaspoon permithrin dip, or few drops of
flea/tick drops into mixture
